The Lunar Leopard Wool Crepe Coat in Winter/Flint

The Wool Crepe Coat is designed, printed and made in England. It has a straight fit, with the stepped hemline falling to shin-height. The coat features light shoulder pads to offer gentle structure and an elegantly elevated neckline. The coat has pockets in the side seams and features side slits for ease of movement. The sleeves are gently fitted with functioning brass snaps hidden within the lower sleeve. The coat is constructed from a 100% wool crepe outer and is lined in a beautifully thick satin. It features a hidden button placket at the centre front concealing bespoke, subtly branded horn-style buttons.

This design references many elements of the arts and culture of Edo-period Japan. It features a magnificent clouded leopard filling the centre back of the design; his whiskers are wild and unruly, his facial expression alert and attentive. A hand-scripted measurement in Japanese references Edo-period zoological manuscripts. At the feet of the feline, two ship rats are equally perturbed by their new surroundings, and one rodent curls up in disguise. Overhead, swallows sweep through the midnight sky and a crescent moon glows in the distance. The front of the coat features a starry sky and textured, grassy hillside; the sweeping swallows gliding gracefully across the body and sleeves of the coat in one flattering and elegant motion. A hanko stamp bearing the name Sabina Savage brands one cuff.
